I don’t even have to think about this. A butterfly. I will get a butterfly.
I absolutely love butterflies, they are so colourful and beautiful to look at. And it’s symbolic to me, I always felt drawn to them.
A butterfly begins its life as a caterpillar, then disappears into a cocoon where it completely transforms. When it finally emerges, it becomes something entirely different, capable of flight. That journey makes butterflies one of the most powerful symbols of transformation. They remind us that growth often happens in quiet, hidden stages before the change becomes visible.
Butterflies also represent freedom. Once they emerge, they are no longer confined to the ground. They move lightly through the air, going wherever the wind carries them. There is something deeply symbolic about that sense of movement and possibility.
They are hard to catch, something that relates to me, it’s not that I’m hard to catch, but I don’t let people close to me. Not because I’m scared or anything, I just like to kep my circle small and protect my peace.
For me, butterflies represent both of these ideas together: Transformation and Freedom.
The courage to transform and the freedom that comes after. They are a reminder that change is not something to fear. Sometimes it is exactly what allows us to become who we were meant to be. 🦋
