So i love Jane Austen, that’s a known fact and one my favourite quotes is “Vanity working on a weak head, produces every sort of mischief” in Emma.
It means that people who care too much about how they look to others, combined with a lack of good sense, end up causing chaos and bad decisions in their social circles.
Which is something I have witnessed a lot, and why I stopped caring about appearances.
